In general, these abilities then have some effect on the game, or setup triggers for abilities waiting to happen. In an effort to alleviate repetitiveness during games, players do not need to announce "Confrontation" each time they use such an ability, they are automatically in a Confrontation when using an MC with this wording, or upon playing a card with this effect. Because there is no reason a player would choose to delay such a benefit, players do not need to announce "Confrontation" at the start of their turn if playing with one of the "Confrontation: X" MCs. For clarity:

.) A player is using Darkseid MC and begins their turn. The player is not in a Confrontation because they have no effect causing them to be.

.) A player is using Wonder Woman 15 MC and begins their turn. Wonder Woman automatically puts them into a Confrontation, and she will trigger for each Defense and Block card they play during their turn. Players can still miss (or pass on) her trigger when playing such cards, but they don't need to announce Confrontation in order for her ability to trigger. The player is in a Confrontation for the entirety of their turn, whether they draw any cards with her ability or not.

.) A player is using Aquaman 15 MC and begins a turn. Aquaman automatically puts them into a Confrontation, and allows them to use his ability to provide power once during their turn if\/when they choose to do so. The player does not need to announce Confrontation to do so, they just need to acknowledge that they are using his ability. The player is in a Confrontation for the entirety of their turn, whether they use his ability to provide power or not.

.) A player is using Darkseid MC, and during their turn plays Carol Ferris [Hero]. After drawing two cards and discarding two cards, Carol puts them into a Confrontation, then they put a hero from their discard pile into their hand. The player is in a Confrontation for the remainder of their turn."},{"header":"2v2 format"},{"text":"We're hard at work on a 2v2 format and are planning to hold an event for it this season as part of the celebration for the cube reaching the 5 year mark.
