An additional stack of Weaknesses is being added to the game. This stack, consisting of forty Weaknesses, resides in "The Reserve Weakness Stack" (or simply "The Reserve"). The reserve stack is to be used only for Weaknesses gained from Super Villain First Appearance Attacks (SV FAAs), and only when the regular Weakness stack is empty.

In essence, if any effect that is not a Super Villain First Appearance Attack gives a player a Weakness while the traditional Weakness stack is empty, they will not receive one. Likewise, if any SV FAA gives a player a Weakness while the traditional Weakness stack is empty, they receive one from the reserve stack.

Ex. 1: A player should gain a Weakness from Laughing Gas while 10 Weaknesses remain in the traditional Weakness stack and 40 are in the reserve stack. The player gains a Weakness from the traditional Weakness stack.

Ex. 2: A player should gain a Weakness from Laughing Gas while no Weaknesses remain in the traditional Weakness stack and 35 are in the reserve stack. The player will not gain a Weakness because the traditional Weakness stack is depleted.

Ex. 3: A player should gain three Weaknesses from a SV FAA while 5 Weaknesses remain in the traditional Weakness stack and 40 are in the reserve stack. The player gains three Weaknesses from the traditional Weakness stack.

Ex. 4: A player should gain three Weakness from a SV FAA while only one Weaknesses remain in the traditional Weakness stack and 40 are in the reserve stack. The player gains the last one from the traditional Weakness stack and two more from the reserve Weakness stack.

Ex. 5: A player should gain three Weakness from a SV FAA while no Weaknesses remain in the traditional Weakness stack and 24 are in the reserve stack. The player gains three Weaknesses from the reserve Weakness stack.

[Note: For tournament cubes these Weaknesses are preferably comprised of three (or fewer) groups of twenty taken from the larger sets, in an effort to minimize the different artworks in the game. The traditional Weakness stack should have all the same artwork.]

Regarding Bizarro [MC] and effects that interact with the Weakness stack, any Weaknesses that enter the game from the reserve stack are assumed to have originated from the traditional Weakness stack. This means that if a Bizarro player happen to gain all twenty Weaknesses from the traditional stack, and then another four from the reserve stack (24 in total) the player could return those 24 to the traditional Weakness stack using Bizarro's ability (and draw a bunch of cards!)

2.) With the unbanning of Pots [Super Power], the Block mechanic is now a keyword in the game. This keyword has no effect, but can be interacted with by effects that look for the Block keyword (similar to how Krypto [Hero] can look for cards with the Assist keyword, although Assist has no effect). For instance: you can use Hermes [Confrontations] to put Pots on top of your deck, but you cannot use Pots to defend an Attack.

3.) With the unbanning of Shields Up [Super Power] enters the concept of choosing Characters within Range: X. To allow this template to function in the Cube environment, we consider players to be at unlimited Range from one another. Therefore a player can only choose to Defend themselves from an Attack with this card, and when doing so they will draw a card."},{"header":"weakness reminder"},{"text":"Dark Nights: Metal is heavily centered around Weaknesses. As a reminder, we consider Weakness to be both a card name and a card type.

When an effect refers to the word Weakness, it means a card named "Weakness" (so Shapeshift applies if you own it). When an effect checks for card types, it will find the type Weakness as long as one of the cards is a real Weakness since that means it has the type Weakness (i.e. it originated from the Weakness stack).

Ex. 1: The Attack from Kryptonite [Equipment] instructs players to discard a Weakness. This search returns 102 unique cards when searching among all cards.

With the updated features, you have the ability to search for cards that "Pertains To:" Defense which is what you looking for.
