[{"text":"Does your local group want to participate in the DCDeckbuilding.com competitive scene and have your players be ranked amongst other players? Well now you can! Whether you only play a few times a season, or have a group that regularly meets to play competitively, we now have a system through which your games can be recorded and cataloged. Logging your matches will also give us access to more data when evaluating Main Character tier changes, and it will give you the players a chance to see which characters are doing the best, and those which tend to not perform as well."},{"header":"What it is"},{"text":"Games played according to the competitive rules found at https:\/\/www.dcdeckbuilding.com\/article.php?id=9447 and https:\/\/www.dcdeckbuilding.com\/rules\/ are able to be logged in our database, and anyone can navigate to https:\/\/www.dcdeckbuilding.com\/ratings\/ to view the leaderboard. Players at the top of the standings are shown, and you can see their match history showing the main characters used in the game and the VP totals for each player."},{"header":"How to Participate"},{"text":"We are currently in our first season of offering this program, so bear with us until we develop a more robust system. With that in mind, we are asking each group to designate a point of contact that will interact with our staff to get the games logged for your group. This should help to streamline communication so that we can get your games recorded and up on the website."},{"header":"Match Details"},{"text":"Whether the DCDB Competitive matches are played physically or digitally does not matter, so long as the competitive rules and tier system are followed."},{"header":"Group Point of Contact"},{"text":"Whether your playgroup is relatively small, or has dozens of players, each group should appoint one person to be their point of contact (POC) with us. This person will be responsible for filling out a spreadsheet style document which lists the players in the game, their Main Characters, final VP, etc. A sample spreadsheet can be provided to your POC in .xls format, or as a google doc (available here: https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1muZKl1kzxe4afgK-X-1mTj1Q-LjJ55hA\/view?usp=sharing) that they can make a copy of and use. The POC should double check all of the recorded matches, remove any duplicate matches recorded, and then submit to us for scoring. Individual players can provide their match results to the POC for inclusion each week, so the POC need not be present or involved in any of the matches."},{"header":"Match rating"},{"text":"A modified Elo rating system is utilized for DCDB. For each game, an elo modifier is used for determining the points gained\/lost for any given game. Recorded games will fall into three categories:"},{"list":[{"listType":"bullet"},{"caption":"1.) Single Game: Players are encouraged to participate in as many unique games as they can. A judge is not required, and we hope that players will take to the forums to ask for ruling questions if\/when they arise so that everyone has an enjoyable experience! These games have an elo rating of 6 points."},{"caption":"2.) Tournament: A tournament generally consists of a series of matches played among several players. A minimum of eight players are required for it to be considered a tournament. A tournament must consist of at least three Swiss\/Double Elimination\/etc style rounds followed by at least one 'finals' round. A tournament level event should have a designated head judge, and that person is allowed to participate in the event if they choose to. Tournaments carry an elo rating of 18 points."},{"caption":"3.) Championship: Please contact us for further details if you are interested in holding an event of this type. Prior approval is required before holding a Championship level event. Championship events require a level 2 DCDB judge be present, and that person may not participate in the event. A championship level event carries an elo rating of 36 points."}]},{"header":"Participation"},{"text":"Getting involved is easy, just find a few friends and meet up together somewhere and play a game.
