Hey guys, with the release of Teen Titans Go! we’ve received six new Main Characters to play with! Today, I’d like to put my personal favorite from the expansion into the spotlight, so we’re going to be talking about a new Beast Boy team-up!

If you are looking to pick up this new Beast Boy in Teen Titans Go!, you can find him here: http://amzn.to/2GE0ZAC
The key wording here is that it triggers off of every super power you play. Not each different. Not each non Kick, but for EVERY super power you play for your turn. This means you can turn Kicks into a draw engine.
The very first partner I thought of when I read Beast Boy’s ability was Harley Quinn. Harley Quinn’s ability is:
These two characters just have natural synergy together. Beast Boy will discard a card from your hand to draw a card, which in turn will trigger Harley Quinn to draw an additional card!

With Harley Quinn being a Tier 3 character, and Beast Boy being a Tier 2, we still have one more point left to spend to round out our team. We’re going to spend that last point on the Tier 1 character, Alan Scott. Alan Scott has the ability:
You always want to trigger Alan Scott before you trigger Beast Boy. ALWAYS.

Alan Scott in combination with Beast Boy and Harley Quinn can make it to where you’re drawing up to 3 cards just for playing a super power. It’s important to have super powers with different names so that you can keep triggering Alan Scott multiple times a turn. Nothing feels worse than blind discarding a punch mid to late game to draw a vulnerability or weakness. However; as the game goes on Alan Scott might not always net you a free cost 0 as you begin destroying them, but it’s important to remember that you can still trigger his ability to reveal the top card of your deck, even if you don’t have any cost 0 cards left in your deck. This ability in the late game will give you free information to decide if discarding a card in your hand is worth it to draw the top card of your deck.
Play Strategy
In the early turns of the game, you want to focus on building your draw engine as best you can. You’ll want to buy up affordable super powers from the lineup when you can, but when there are none available, don’t worry there’s always kicks. Here’s some of my favorites:
Overall your draft strategy isn’t too complicated, buy super powers early until you think you have enough to always have one at the start of your turn, and pick up a couple powerful cards along the way for you to dig for every turn with the sheer amount of cards this strategy can draw.
What makes This Team So Good?
I really like this team because when I play it, I never feel like I’m going to have a dead turn. It’s hard for people to hate draft you out of the game because it’s so easy to get this strategy going with kicks always being available. Once you have your draw engine in place, all it takes is for you to have a couple other decent cards for you to be off to the races.

(The following example is assuming you’re drawing the worst remaining cards in your deck, which in this example are Punches)

Let’s take the worst possible hand you could have while having a kick as an example, that hand would be 1 Kick, 1 Punch, and 3 Vulnerability.
With this team this could be your hand as early as turn 3. So an example turn would go as follows: Play the Kick. Trigger Alan Scott to check to top card of your deck, it’s a Punch, you draw it. Trigger Beast Boy to discard one of your 3 Vulnerabilities to draw a Punch. Trigger Harley Quinn to draw a card, its a Punch. We turned 1 Kick, 1 Punch, and 3 Vulnerabilities into 1 Kick, 4 Punches, and 2 Vulnerabilities! Turning a 3 Power hand into a 6 Power hand!
Overall I think this team is really strong and fun with all the triggers you get to do during your turn. The fact that it’s so resistant to hate drafting and that you can draft pretty much draft whatever once you’re engine is developed puts it among the top tiers in my eyes. Try it for yourself next time, and tell me what you think!"}]
